The Atheism Wave: This is the name of our movement. The Atheism Wave is the new new wave of atheism. It is also what we call our special wave. Supporters of A-Wave take a picture of themselves doing "the atheism wave," which is a friendly wave of hello with the scarlet "A" of atheism in the palm of their hand. For example:
It's Atheism Boy!
A-Wave: This is short for The Atheism Wave.
Waver: Those who are part of The Atheism Wave are called "Wavers." "WAVER" is an acronym for "We Are Vocal, Empathic, (&) Respectful."
Waverrr: This is an alternate spelling of "Waver" which (jokingly, usually) uses three "R"s at the end to represent the "Three Rs" of The Atheism Wave. This is also the spelling used during "Talk Like A Pirate" Day.
The Three Rs: This is a play on the "3Rs" of education (reading, 'riting, & 'rithetic). The Three Rs of The Atheism Wave state that: We stand for Reason, Respect, and Rights.
The Rules of Engagement: This is a list of suggestions for truth seekers on how to have respectful conversations with other people, and particularly with people with whom we disagree. The Atheism Wave is founded on these principles. We aim to be inclusive, and never divisive. We want to look for truth, and we want to uphold human rights, and we want to achieve that through peaceful means. The Rules of Engagement are found HERE.
Atheism Plus (or Atheism+ or A+): This is the previous "new wave of atheism" that caused some waves (pun intended) within the atheist community. If you're unfamiliar with A+, check this out: The "New Wave of Atheism".
